Prices are a bit high, particularly for a rural area but the food is excellent. A local favorite seem to be the orange chicken which I can attest to being delicious. The fried rice, if ordered as a main dish (with your preferred meat), is unique as it includes bean sprouts. This ads a bit of bitterness but actually seems to compliment the dish overall. As a side, the fried rice is about as good as I have ever had. Another personal favorite of mine is the hot and sour soup. I have never had better and I have eaten it in many places. The only negative is the portion size, a cup is exceptionally meager while the bowl is large enough to drown in (prices are reasonable on this dish only). The shrimp in hot garlic sauce is also quite good but again exceptionally pricy. The buffet, 11-1 Tuesday through Sunday, is rather small but tasty. I have noticed locals tend to refuse it when orange chicken is not on it (this seems to be 19 times out of 20). There is no rhyme or reason to what chicken dish will be on the buffet. Typically, it is sesame chicken but I have seen another type along with the elusive orange chicken as well (do NOT count on it being on the buffet!). Other fair includes chicken and mushroom (a personal favorite), happy family, Mongolian beef (spicy beef, onions, and peppers), fried rice (non-meat but with bean sprouts), crab Rangoon, sweet and sour chicken, etc. I will warn you that the place gets crowded and as seating is limited you may be turned away, particularly after church hours on a Sunday. Also, as the buffet is so small there is the perpetual problem if running out of food on it. Be aware that customers are like vultures and wait for more food to arrive. I have found the elderly of Iowa have few qualms about shoving you out of their way or snatching the last of something from your tongs as you attempt to pit it on your plate. Buffet is currently $9.85 with a soda, over priced for the size and selection but still worth it for me. Overall, excellent food if you can handle the price. Pros: Excellent food quality, diverse menu, and Pepsi Products (oddly, no Sierra Mist though). Cons: Price (it is impossible to spend less than $10), size of buffet, crowding, and replenish rate of the lunch buffet.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
